(Phaseolus vulgaris)
Bush Bean Hawkesbury Wonder is a popular old stringless variety that produces green pods to 15cm long, over a long period, Bush Beans don't require a structure to climb on making them a little easier to manage plus faster to produce beans compared to their climbing counterparts. They like soil rich in organic matter but they are a legume so ensure nitrogen are not to high. Sow your beans direct in the garden and ensure you do not over water them during the germination stage as this may cause rotting. Once germinated provide a good mulch later around the plant. Harvest beans when they are young and tender between 8-12cm long. Plant beans every 4 weeks for continuous supply.
