(Lactuca sativa)

This Australian heirloom leaf lettuce is noted for its capability to withstand hot temperatures. Vividly hued with a yellowish-green glow, Australian Yellow boasts wavy and loose leaf heads with a butter-like texture and a mild, sweet taste with no trace of bitterness. Easily grown from seed, lettuce is best sown in pots or punnets and covered with a 3mm layer of soil, kept moist until germination. Once your seedlings reach 5cm in height, transplant to a spot with full or partial sun exposure, ideally in a location that is relatively nutrient-rich for a prolonged harvest.
